Thank you for contacting us about this safe. The cash rating you see is the maximum amount that an insurance company will cover you for cash stored overnight. Ratings are determined by a variety of different factors which include the quality of the lock, thickness of the door and walls as well as how the safe is constructed. This model will cover you up to ??4,000 and for valuables it is ??40,000 as the cover is a multiple of 10.
