The Phoenix Battery Fighter has been designed for the secure storage of lithium ion batteries. Ideal for the home or a business environment that requires to store rechargeable batteries, power tools and garden tools. The BS0444K has 120 minutes for fire protection and 3 removable shelves.
Lithium-Ion Battery Storage
Lithium batteries are commonly used in many different devices such as a mobile phone, power tools, garden tools, electric bikes and scooters. But the issue with a lithium battery is that it is has a serious risk of catching fire, there is even evidence that they are very difficult to extinguish once ignited.
There are constant news reports that mention a fire has been caused by lithium batteries catching fire. This has also led to burnt down homes and properties in the UK along with the loss of life.
The protection and secure storage of rechargeable batteries is vitally important for any home or business, the potential outbreak of a fire could be devastating to life or property.
Construction of the Battery Fighter
The Phoenix battery fighter has a double wall construction that includes an internal fill, this is a patented Styronite F insulation. This gives the cabinet further strength and protection for heat resistance.
The fire protection for this unit is 120 minutes along with it being drop tested from 9.1 metres. This simulates if the safe were to ever fall through a ceiling during a fire.
The external dimensions of the Battery Fighter are 1160 x 655 x 560 mm with the internal volume of 163 litres. It comes supplied with a Cylinder Key Lock. Fixing bolts that are designed for concrete floors come supplied with the safe.
Each safe comes supplied with internal key hooks and a pull-out drawer which can be used to store small items such as a mobile phone or smaller rechargeable batteries. A power cable has also been fitted which allows you to charge your devices when not being used.
Each model will come with a different number of charging points with the BS0444K having 8 Charging Points. The Battery Fighter comes supplied with an internal smoke detector and alarm if a lithium battery were to catch fire.
Additional Features and Add Ons
Different features and extras can be added onto the fighter if required, such as an external temperature display which shows the inside temperature of the safe. This is so that the temperature internally can be monitored due to the risks of lithium ion batteries overheating.
Locking Type - Cylinder Key Lock
The Phoenix Battery Fighter BS0444K has a cylinder key lock and comes standard with 2 keys. The variant with a cylinder key lock offers high reliability, is easy to operate and competitively priced.
Take into account the management of keys, these are often small keys that you should store safely. Should a burglar find the safe key, he has unimpeded access to the safe. A variant with a key lock requires good and secure key management. Therefore always consider an electronic code lock.
Fixing and Installation
The Phoenix Battery Fighter has been prepared for base fixing only and not back wall fixing. The fixing bolts provided are required to be used on concrete floors. If you require the safe to be anchored to a wooden floor with joists, then please contact us for further information.
If you are planning to keep your garden tools and power tools safe then we would highly recommend to install the safe to the floor.
